An Eccentric Prom

Formal season is upon us ladies, which means one very important thing: it's time to shop for your perfect prom gown!

When shopping for prom, it's important to keep a few things in mind. First, always stay true to yourself. Prom is a time to express your own personality, and express it boldly. :) Don't be afraid to be who you are, after all, that's what makes you special and gets you noticed in the first place.

Why not be a little different this year by rocking an eccentric, unconventional look at prom? While most gals go for the romantic, girly formal gowns, you can stand apart by wearing something totally off the wall and as original as you :)

Things to consider for an eccentric look this prom season:

-layers of ruffle-y goodness. Tiered ruffles are flouncy and create endless movement. Pair this look with edgy accessories, like lots of layered bangles or funky chandelier earrings

- For 2011, lace will be edgy (think Lady Gaga) and look fierce with brightly colored pumps and bold accessories, like jewel embellished cocktail rings and brightly colored nails.

-go big and go bold! Think about it- how many gals do you see in pattern prints at prom? Not many. Stand out from the crowd by donning a sexy formal gown in a striped, animal, or bold graphic print. And if you're really brave, mix all the patterns together! A blatant disregard for "typical" combination will give you a style edge over the other gals at your next formal event. Think a striped gown with leopard print pumps, or a leopard print shrug over a bright graphic formal gown. When mixing prints, the options are literally endless, and with a little bit of confidence, easy to pull off.
